The HST runs east from Crescent Meadow in Sequoia NP to connect with the JMT at Wallace Creek, then continues to Mount Whitney. The route crosses the Great Western Divide at Kaweah Gap and offers some of the most dramatic granite scenery in the Sierra Nevada outside the JMT corridor.
