Michigan’s Shore-to-Shore Trail runs across the Northern Lower Peninsula from Lake Michigan near Empire to Oscoda on Lake Huron. It is primarily an equestrian trail but open to hikers, passing through several state forests with the Upper Peninsula’s characteristic hardwood and pine mix.
