The Larapinta Trail follows the ancient West MacDonnell Ranges in the Northern Territory, one of the oldest mountain ranges on Earth. The trail passes through gorges, Aboriginal land, and sparse spinifex desert. Camping must be reserved with NT Parks and water sources must be carefully tracked.
