Note: As of 2026, only about 62 miles of the Natchez Trace are developed as continuous hiking trail. Much of the designated route follows the Natchez Trace Parkway. The existing trail sections pass through bottomland forest and Native American historic sites in Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi.
